NOVEMBER 8 2016 – The Jinx is up. Notoriously exiled scion of the Durst family, Robert Durst, has pleaded not guilty to the death of writer Susan Berman in a bizarre courtroom hearing at the Los Angeles Superior court yesterday (Monday November 7)
His arraignment came seven months after Durst was originally arrested and plead guilty to a federal weapons possession charge in New Orleans – a hearing that will cost Durst seven years in prison. Durst was caught for suspicious intent shortly after the HBO documentary “The Jinx” came out – in which on alleged mistaken bathroom recordings, Mr. Durst “admits” that he had been caught, and that the authorities would charge him for said crimes.
In a truly odd court hearing Mr. Durst’s lawyer is quoted as making the “Not Guilty” plea on behalf of Durst. Then, just minutes later, unprovoked, Durst cries out himself that he is taking the not guilty plea.
A quivering Durst is then quoted as saying “I do want to say here and now though, I am not guilty. I did not kill Susan Berman.”
